Let’sGOv – GOverning the Transition through Pilot Actions
Let'sGOv - GOverning the Transition through
Pilot Actions is a two-year European project coordinated by the
Municipality of Bologna and funded under the Horizon 2020 programme within the
NetZero Cities Pilot Programme. With a duration of two years and an overall
budget of nearly €1.5 million, the project was launched with the aim of testing
innovative governance models to accelerate the energy and climate transition of
cities towards climate neutrality by 2030.
Alongside Bologna, eight other
Italian cities - Bergamo, Florence, Milan, Padua, Parma, Prato, Rome, and Turin
- take part in the initiative. Together with scientific and technical partners
such as the University of Bologna, the Energy Center of the Polytechnic
University of Turin, and the Agency for Energy and Sustainable Development
(AESS), they will work to consolidate the energy transition as a structural
priority for local administrations, fostering cross-sector collaboration and
building alliances with citizens and stakeholders.
The project focuses on three main
challenges: engagement, through inclusive participation models that
strengthen awareness and involvement in the transition; data management,
through the sharing of energy information to support informed decision-making
and effective monitoring; and financing, by exploring innovative tools to
sustain interventions and strategies.
Let'sGOv was selected by the
European Commission from among 103 applications involving 159 cities across 33
countries and was an integral part of the EU Mission on Climate-Neutral and
Smart Cities, which aims to make 112 cities climate neutral by 2030.
